Why Investing in Youth Matters: Spotlight on YSB Ottawa
This past holiday season, we were honoured to volunteer with the Youth Services Bureau (YSB) of Ottawa and continue to strengthen the meaningful partnership we’ve built over the years. We are proud, alongside InterRent, to have presented a generous donation of $50,000 to YSB on behalf of the Mike McCann 2025 Golf Tournament.
A Partnership That Lasts
Our collaboration with YSB spans many years, from offering administrative services at several of their supportive housing locations to raising critical funds through our annual golf tournament. By sharing our time, resources, and energy, we affirm a shared belief: investing in youth builds stronger communities.
YSB’s Impact in Ottawa
For over 60 years, YSB has been a cornerstone in Ottawa’s social landscape, supporting more than 3,000 youth and families each month. Their holistic services are made up of the following:
Homelessness & Supportive Housing: Operating two emergency shelters and four apartment buildings, YSB offers safe, long-term housing to youth aged 16 to 22, including rent-geared‑to‑income units.
Mental Health Support: Offering free, accessible services such as a 24/7 crisis phone and chat line, walk-in and virtual mental health clinics, and counselling for youths and families.
Employment & Justice Services: Connecting youth with job opportunities and providing justice support for those involved in legal systems.
Youth Engagement & Community Programming: Centering youth voices in program design and delivery to ensure services are relevant and responsive.
Our Commitment to Youth
By supporting YSB, CLV Group and InterRent are helping ensure that critical services, like housing, mental health, employment, and justice, remain available and free of charge. YSB strives to ensure that critical services are accessible exactly when youth need them most. It’s about more than charity; it’s about creating enduring impact.
