Supporting BGC Ottawa: Building a Brighter Future Together
This week, our head office team had the privilege of volunteering at BGC Ottawa, where we wrapped gifts, baked cookies, and helped spread holiday cheer alongside children and volunteers from the Ottawa community.
We were also honoured to present a $100,000 donation to support the incredible programs and services the BGC provides for youth in Ottawa. Their work empowers young people, fosters inclusion, and strengthens the fabric of our community. Moments like these are made possible by the support of our generous sponsors from the 2025 Mike McCann Charity Golf Tournament.
Our partnership with the BGC is a longstanding one, with roots dating back to CLV’s founding in the 1990’s. We look forward to supporting their meaningful work for many years to come as they encourage, develop, and nurture future generations in Ottawa and beyond.
What is BGC Ottawa?
BGC is an impactful organization that has served children and youth in vulnerable neighbourhoods across Ottawa since 1923. With four main clubhouses, the organization reaches 12,000 young people annually, delivering free programs that promote personal development, belonging, and confidence.
Core Pillars of BGC Programming
BGC’s mission and values are delivered through the four following pillars.
Education: Features homework clubs, tutoring, student success initiatives, and scholarships. BGC strives to promote positive attitudes towards education.
Physical Activity and Healthy Lifestyle: Aquatic activities, cooking and nutrition, hockey, and sports and leadership leagues are just a few of the programs BGC offers to support health and wellness.
Leadership and Social Skills: BGC enhances confidence through activities that promote civic responsibility and self-discovery.
Creative Arts: Workshops in visual arts, cultural celebration, and music lead young individuals to develop self-expression and cultural awareness.
How You Can Help
Volunteer Engagement: Time, mentorship, and skill-sharing enrich youth beyond financial contributions, and can be achieved through clubhouse, special events, and group volunteering.
Holiday Giving: Bring hope to the holidays through donations of food, gifts, or essentials.
