ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The Mike McCann Charity Golf Tournament is an annual event hosted in Ottawa by CLV Group and InterRent REIT to raise money for our communities. The tournament has been running since 1998 and was recently renamed to honour Mike McCann, a dear friend of the company, who tragically passed away from cancer in 2019. Mike was incredibly passionate about this event and instrumental to its execution throughout the years he spent planning it. He made an impact on everyone he met, and we seek to embody his spirit within the tournament - an impactful, memorable fundraiser with an electric energy.
The event brings together a broad community of sponsors, industry partners, charities, family, and friends from across Canada. To date, the tournament has raised over $8,100,000 for local organizations, including a record-setting $1.66 million in 2023 alone. It has quickly become one of Canada’s largest private charity events, and we are eager to see it continue to expand and give back to communities across Ottawa, Southwestern Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia.

WHO IS MIKE MCCANN
Mike McCann was a prominent figure born and raised in Ottawa, he was the owner of Velocity Media, an advertising company that is still run by his son-in-law, Chris, to this day. Any of the blue bike racks you see in downtown Ottawa? That's Velocity. Mike had a once-in-a-lifetime type of charm and charisma about him. Mike cared so much about this tournament. He would make it his mission to personally call anyone who had ever worked with him to ask them to participate in this tournament. He never took no for an answer. His smile was radiant and contagious first thing in the morning on every tournament day, always ensuring everyone had what they needed.
In February 2019, our dear friend Mike McCann passed away from cancer at the age of 63. CLV Group and InterRent REIT have made it our mission to keep his legacy and community giving alive.
WHY DO WE DO IT?
We at CLV Group and InterRent believe that giving back to the community is necessary, so we prioritize preserving the legacy of this tournament. We ensure that 100% of all donations go directly to charities and do not use them as taxable benefits.
